ROLLER DERBY IS HERE . . .

FOR THE LATEST BOUT RECAPS: Click HERE!

Welcome to the official Mason-Dixon Roller Vixens website! We are excited to be bringing flat track roller derby to the area, and want you to come check us out. Derby is making a comeback all over the US, and once you get a taste of what we are all about, you’ll be hooked! We incorporated our league as MDRV (from the original HCORE acronym) to better reflect the diverse geography we represent as a group. We currently roster roller vixens from MD, PA, and WV and our group gets larger (and undoubtedly more interesting!) by the week.

If you are interested in checking out derby, as a fan, potential roller girl, referee or support team member, we would love to welcome you to our flock. Simply drop by a px session (see our calendar for the skinny), check out our fresh meat page, or join the MDRV community online (for myspace, yahoo groups and more, see the contact us page). Derby takes all kinds: all shapes, all ages, and all backgrounds…. It is diverse, and it rocks. YOU’LL NEVER KNOW HOW GOOD IT IS UNTIL YOU TRY!!!!

MDRV complies with all standards established by the WFTDA WFTDA is the Women’s Flat-Track Derby Association and it is composed of independent, all-girl roller derby leagues from across the country. The mission of the WFTDA is to promote and foster the sport of women’s flat-track roller derby by facilitating the development of athletic ability, sportswomanship, and goodwill among member leagues. The governing philosophy is “by the skaters, for the skaters.” Women skaters are primary owners, managers, and operators of each member league and of the coalition. The operational tasks of the coalition are to set standards for rules, seasons, and safety, and to determine guidelines for the presentations of the national and international athletic competitions of member leagues. All member leagues have a voice in the decision-making process, and agree to comply with the governing body’s policies.
